Two suspects arrested on firearm and drug charges

On June 11, around 9am, Kalamazoo Public Safety officer Tim Millard conducted a traffic stop in the 500blk of W North St for a moving violation. The driver and front seat passenger quickly exited the vehicle and were detained. A K-9 alerted on the vehicle and Ruger .22 revolver was located under the driver’s seat. During a search of the front seat passenger a delivery amount of crack cocaine and several hundred dollars were seized.

The driver is a Kalamazoo resident in his thirties. The driver was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, attempted resisting and obstructing and driving on a suspended license. He was out on circuit court bond for a previous gun case. The front seat passenger is also a Kalamazoo resident in his thirties. He was arrested for possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine and attempted resisting and obstructing.

Stolen firearm recovered from felonious assault suspect

On May 18, 2016 around 8:40pm, Kalamazoo Public Safety was dispatched to Burdick and Ransom, for subjects fighting. As officers were responding the victim advised there was a male armed with a gun who had pointed it in the victim’s face. An officer approached the suspect who dropped the firearm. The suspect was then taken into police custody. The firearm was a highpoint .45 that had been stolen out of Grant, MI.

The suspect is a Kalamazoo resident in his thirties. He was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, felonious assault and possession of a stolen firearm.
