20-year-old struck by gunfire

20-year-old struck by gunfire

Kalamazoo, Michigan:

On Saturday, February 5, 2022, at approximately 8:01 P.M., Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers responded to the 400 block of Clinton Ave for a possible shooting.  Upon officers’ arrival, they located a vehicle that was unoccupied with several bullet holes.  While investigating the incident, a victim from the vehicle arrived at a local hospital with several gunshot wounds.

The victim, a 20-year-old Kalamazoo resident, was treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.  No suspects have been identified.

Structure Fire

Structure Fire

Kalamazoo, Michigan:

On Thursday, January 27, 2022, at approximately 4:15 A.M., Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety was dispatched to 1100 block of Reed Ave for a report of a porch fire.  Upon officer’s arrival, heavy smoke and fire was seen coming from the porch.  The fire was brought under control in about 30 minutes.  No injuries were reported.

The Kalamazoo Public Safety Fire Marshall is investigating the incident.

74-year-old struck by gunfire

74-year-old struck by gunfire

Kalamazoo, Michigan:

On Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at approximately 11.36 P.M., Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers responded to the 1400 block of Krom Ave for a report of a shooting.  A 74-year-old, Kalamazoo resident, had arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound and advised he had been shot in the 1400 block of Krom Ave.  The victim was treated at the hospital and is listed in critical condition.  No suspects have been identified.

41-year-old struck by gunfire

41-year-old struck by gunfire

Kalamazoo, Michigan:

On Sunday, January 16, 2022, at approximately 1:29 A.M., Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers responded to the 1000 block of Interfaith Blvd for a report of a shooting.  Upon officer’s arrival, they located a 41-year-old male who had been struck multiple times by gunfire.  The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is listed in stable condition.  No suspects have been arrested.

Police Impersonator

On Friday, January 14, 2022 at approximately 6:00 P.M., officers from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety were made aware of an individual impersonating a police officer. The suspect conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Portage Rd near Palmer St.

KDPS officers are currently investigating the incident and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the individual.

Officers have determined that the suspect was at the scene of an earlier traffic crash on that same day. Attached is a picture from the Officers Body Worn Camera at the scene of the traffic crash. This photograph is of the suspect and the suspect’s vehicle. The suspect is an unknown white male and the vehicle is believed to be a dark colored Chevy Equinox.
