Traffic crash on I-94 leaves one person injured

Kalamazoo, Michigan:

On Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at approximately 11:48 P.M., Kalamazoo Public Safety Department responded for a report that a pedestrian riding a moped on I-94 had been struck by another vehicle near Sprinkle Rd in the construction zone. Upon officers’ arrival, they located the victim with severe injuries and an involved vehicle that was on fire due to the crash.

Public Safety Officers performed lifesaving efforts on the victim. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is listed in stable condition. Alcohol and speed do not appear to be a factor in the crash. The crash is still under investigation. East bound I-94 was closed for several hours but is now open.

Gunfire leaves two people shot

Gunfire leaves two people shot

Kalamazoo, Michigan:

On Saturday, May 6, 2023, at approximately 1:59 A.M., Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers responded to the 1200 block of W Patterson Ave for reports of shots fired. Officers were unable to locate any victims at this time.

At approximately 3:03 A.M., two victims of gunshots arrived at a local hospital. The victims, a 16-year-old Kalamazoo resident and a 16-year-old Lansing resident, were both treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound from the above shooting. There are currently no suspects.

Structure Fire

Structure Fire

Kalamazoo, Michigan:

On Saturday, May 6, 2023, at approximately 2:26 A.M, Kalamazoo Public Safety Department responded to the 1100 block of Clinton Ave for a report of a structure fire. Upon officers’ arrival, they located fire coming out of the back of the home. The fire was brought under control in about 40 minutes. There are no injuries.

The Kalamazoo Public Safety Fire Marshall is investigating the incident.

Officers Investigate Shooting

Officers Investigate Shooting

Kalamazoo, MI: 

On Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at approximately 1736 hrs, Officers were dispatched to the area of Olive St and Cameron St regarding multiple shots fired.  Upon arrival, officers were directed to a male who was unintentionally struck by gunfire while inside his residence.  

On scene, Officers also located multiple casings in the roadway at the intersection of Olive St and Cameron St.  It was also determined that two residences and one vehicle were struck as a result of the gunfire.   

The 70-year-old, male victim was found to be alert and conscious and was transported to a local hospital where he is currently receiving treatment for his injuries.    

The suspect is currently unknown however Officers with the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety are currently investigating the incident.

Gunfire leaves second person shot tonight

Kalamazoo, Michigan:

On Thursday, April 13, 2023, at approximately 10:10 P.M., a Kalamazoo Public Safety Officer heard multiple gunshots in the 600 block of Florence Street. Upon officers’ arrival to that location, officers located the scene of a shooting but no victim.    

While officers were on scene, a victim of a gunshot arrived at a local hospital.  The victim, a 28-year-old Kalamazoo resident, was treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound from the above shooting.   This is the second shooting tonight.  There are currently no suspects.
