Lateral Hiring Bonus

**$15,000 HIRING BONUS FOR LATERAL TRANSFER POLICE OFFICERS AND FIREFIGHTERS**

Salary

Recruits:  $22.19/hr. (no certifications and no experience necessary)
Police Academy Graduates:  $22.19/hr. (certifiable)
Experienced Police Officers: (full or part time/MCOLES certified or able to be certified through RPTE program):
$24.82/hr. (less than 1 year of service)
$26.27/hr. (1 year to less than 2 years of service)
$27.49/hr. (2 years to less than 3 years of service)
$28.70/hr. (3 years or more of completed service)
Fire Fighter I & II (full time and licensed MFR)
$24.82/hr. (less than 1 year of service)
$26.27/hr. (1 year to less than 2 years of service)
$27.49/hr. (2 years to less than 3 years of service)
$28.70/hr. (3 years or more of completed service)

Medical Insurance

Effective first of the month after 30 days of service.

Dental Insurance

Effective first day of month, after 30 days of service. PPO plan.

Life Insurance

$20,000 term life.

Deferred Compensation

Voluntary Supplemental Retirement Savings Program. May contribute 25% of salary per year, up to $17,500/year.

Holidays

12 days per year.

Retirement

Defined Benefit Plan. Vesting: Ten years; employees contribute 4.5% of pay (tax deferred). Exempt from Social Security (FICA portion). Pension Benefit Eligibility: 25 years of service with no age requirement or age 50 with ten years of service.

Sick Leave

Accumulate eight hours for each month of continuous service.

Section 125 Benefits
