Applicant should complete a “Job Interest Card.” Interest cards are kept on file for 1 year and will send out a mass email when a hiring process has opened up.
Applicant must complete an online application during the 2 week application period.
Advancing applicants will be invited to take the KDPS Written exam.
Passing applicants will be sent a KDPS background questionnaire and be required to turn it in to Public Safety by a specified date.
Advancing applicants will be invited to the fire agility test and 1st oral interview.
Advancing applicants will be assigned a background investigator and have a background investigation completed.
Advancing applicants will be invited to a final Chief’s Interview.
Conditional Offers of employment will be given after the Chief’s Interview and are dependent upon successful completion of psychological testing, a physical exam, and a drug screen.
The entire hiring process takes between 4-6 months to complete.
