Woman Brutally Stabbed to Death

On Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 5:51 p.m., Officers from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety responded to a report of shots fired with a female victim in the 2200 block of E Cork Street. On arrival, Officers encountered Taylor Anne Dragicevich who was mortally wounded not by gunfire but instead by a vicious knife attack. Ms. Dragicevich was stabbed multiple times including the face. Officers and LIFE paramedics rendered aid and transported Ms. Dragicevich to an area hospital where she succumbed to her injuries a short time later.

The investigation led Detectives to execute a search warrant in the early morning hours of Sunday, May 21, 2023, in the 27000 block of 66th Ave in Lawton, Michigan. Detectives from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety with the assistance of the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office executed the search warrant. Detectives took a person of interest into custody and recovered additional evidence.

The investigation into the killing of Ms. Dragicevich a 28-year-old female from Galesburg is ongoing. Witnesses and those with information are asked to call the Criminal Investigation Division at 269-337-8139. The community can also provide information anonymously through Silent Observer at 269-343-2100.

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety wishes to extend its sincerest condolences to the friends and family of Ms. Dragicevich.
