KDPS responds to shooting

On Thursday, May 18, public safety officers responded to the calls of a shooting victim on the 1400 block of Fox Ridge Dr. at 10:11 p.m.

Upon arrival officers found 42-year-old Tyquincy Tymain McFerrin with a gunshot wound and rendered immediate aid. Mcferrin was taken to Bronson Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:08 p.m.

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety wishes to extend its sincerest sympathies and condolences to the friends and family of Mr. Mcferrin.

Witnesses and those with information are asked to call the Criminal Investigation Division at 269-337-8139. The community can also provide information anonymously through Silent Observer at 269-343-2100.
