Vehicle Strikes Pedestrian

Kalamazoo, MI:

On May 3rd 2023, around 1:30 AM Kalamazoo Public Safety responded to the report of a semi-truck that struck a pedestrian on Sprinkle Rd near the I-94 interchange.  The pedestrian was transported to Bronson Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. 

Due to the nature of the accident, south bound Sprinkle Rd at Cork St is completely closed at this time to include the west bound on-ramp to I-94.  North bound Sprinkle is open for only one lane between the traffic circles.  This press release will be updated when Sprinkle Rd is open for normal traffic and residents are asked to avoid the area at this time.

Alcohol is not currently considered to be a factor in the accident.

Traffic in both lanes on Sprinkle Rd have been opened up for normal traffic usage and the morning commute will not be affected.
