On April 4, 2023, around 11:45 am, officers responded to the 1200 block of Little Dr regarding a shooting. When officers arrived, they located a male suffering from a gun shot wound. The male was transported to a local hospital for his injuries.

The male’s vehicle was also taken during the incident and is described as a White, 2021 Kia K5 with a Michigan plate of ESH 6869.

On April 6, 2023, the gunshot victim in this incident has died from his injuries and has been identified as Kavonta Terreal Martin, a 24-year-old Kalamazoo resident. KDPS extends their condolences to Martin’s family and friends.
