A woman reported that a male was holding three juveniles hostage at gunpoint inside an apartment. The Kalamazoo Metro Special Weapons and Tactics team (KM SWAT) was called to the scene. After investigating further, PSOs were able to locate all three juveniles at a different location in the City of Kalamazoo. Officers entered the apartment and located the suspect. They were able to take him into custody without any further resistance. The suspects weapon, a 9 mm handgun, was located near where he was taken into custody.
The suspect, a 26-year-old male from Kalamazoo, was arrested for home invasion, unlawful imprisonment, and multiple weapons offenses. He was lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail and is awaiting arraignment.
