Shooting Investigation 800 West North Street

Kalamazoo, MI:

On Friday, December 9, 2022, at approximately 3:00 p.m., officers with the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety responded to reports of a subject who had been shot in the 800 block of West North Street.

Officers arrived in the area and located evidence consistent with a shooting scene.  Simultaneously, additional officers responded to a local hospital and contacted a victim who was seeking treatment for an apparent gunshot wound to the leg.

The victim is identified as a 15-year-old Kalamazoo resident.  The injuries sustained are not considered life-threatening. 

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident.
