PRESS RELEASE

Person Shot

Kalamazoo, MI:

On December 4th at approximately 4:20 AM, officers responded to the 1300 block of Knollwood Ave for the report of a subject that had been shot.  Officers located the victim, a 28-year-old Lansing resident, suffering from a non-life-threatening gun shot wound to the shoulder.

Currently there is not a known suspect for the shooting and officers are on scene investigating.  Due to the proximity to Western Michigan University’s campus, WMU sent notification to its students and KDPS will maintain an increased police presence in the area as a precautionary measure only.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Kalamazoo Public Safety at (269)488-8911 or Silent Observer at (269)343-2100 or www.kalamazoosilentobserver.com.
