UPDATE TO SHOTS FIRED AT OFFICERS

Kalamazoo Public Safety has cleared the 4300 block of S Burdick St and has released police units from the area. The suspect was not located at this time.

Through the investigation, the detective bureau was able to obtain photos of the suspect during the robbery that occurred prior to the suspect shooting at officers. Please see the below photos:

Original Post

On August 13th 2022, Kalamazoo Public Safety responded to a robbery in the 2100 block of S Burdick St. Officers located the suspect vehicle in the 4300 block of S Burdick St where the suspect fled on foot and shot at officers. At this time, Kalamazoo Public Safety is actively searching for the suspect in this area. One weapon has been recovered however, the suspect is not currently in custody and was last seen on foot in the area. There has been no reported injuries to officers or citizens and the public is requested to avoid the area.

Anyone with information is requested to call the Kalamazoo County Central Dispatch Authority at 269-488-8911.
