Kalamazoo, Michigan:

On Thursday, August 4, 2022, at approximately 2:32 A.M., a Kalamazoo Public Safety Officer located a stolen vehicle that was occupied in the 600 block W Kilgore Rd.  When the officer attempted to stop the stolen vehicle, the driver fled in the vehicle and a pursuit was started.  During the pursuit, the suspect vehicle struck another motorist causing minor damage and then fled on foot.  A Kalamazoo Public Safety K9 unit responded to the scene and tracked the suspect.

The suspect, a 19-year-old Kalamazoo resident, was located during the Police K9 track and was arrested on various felony charges and lodged at Kalamazoo County Jail.  The driver of the vehicle that was struck was not injured.  A Kalamazoo Public Safety Officer suffered minor injuries from a dog bite that was in the stolen vehicle. The officer was treated and released at a local hospital.
