Second Conviction Secured in 2023 Mother’s Day Drive-By Shooting

A Kalamazoo man pleaded guilty this week in connection with a deadly drive-by shooting that occurred on Mother’s Day 2023.

On Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026, Andrew Johnson, 20, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and felony firearm charges just prior to the start of a jury trial. He is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 2, 2026, before Judge Bridenstine.
