PRESS RELEASE

EB I-94 accident and temporary closure

Kalamazoo, MI:

On February 6th 2022 at 2030hrs Kalamazoo Public Safety received calls of an accident in the east bound lane of I-94 between Portage Road and Sprinkle Road that shut down all east bound lanes.

Currently east bound I-94 is shut down and traffic should detour. 

Drivers are encouraged to ramp off at US-131, Oakland Dr, Westnedge Ave, and/or Portage Rd and continue south until Center Ave.  Drive east on Center Ave until Sprinkle Road then turn north.  Drive north on Sprinkle Road which will allow drivers to ramp on east bound again.

West bound I-94 is not currently affected.

Kalamazoo Public Safety will notify with another press release when east bound I-94 is back open for normal traffic.
