Shots fired into occupied homes

Kalamazoo, MI:

On January 30th, 2022 at approximately 12:10 p.m., Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers responded to the 1000 block of Interfaith Blvd for a report of shots fired. First arriving officers spoke with a woman who reported that somebody had fired a gunshot into her apartment. Although the apartment was occupied at the time, nobody was injured. Public Safety officers also located bullet holes in a neighboring apartment and forced entry to check on the residents. Nobody was located inside this apartment. Public Safety officers later contacted the residents of the second apartment, who said they had been inside the apartment when it was struck by the gunfire and had fled the home.

As of this time, the suspect has not been identified or located.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety at 337-8120 or Silent Observer at 343-2100
