Kalamazoo, MI:

On November 6, 2021 around 6:45pm Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety was dispatched to the intersection of S Burdick St and Millview Ave on a report of a two-car, head-on crash with occupants possibly trapped inside.  Upon arrival, officers located two critically injured occupants, one from each of the two vehicles. The driver of the north bound vehicle, who had self-extricated, was also provided care for significant injuries.

Care was provided to the three subjects, two of which were extricated from their vehicles by KDPS.  Their status is still listed as “critical” at a local hospital.  The driver of the north bound vehicle is in “stable” condition and receiving treatment.

A KDPS accident investigator processed the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.

S Burdick St was shut down for approximately three hours during this investigation to allow KDPS to safely care for injured subjects and to process the scene.

If anyone has information concerning this incident, they are asked to contact Kalamazoo Public Safety at (269) 337-8994, or Silent Observer at (269)343-2100 or www.kalamazoosilentobserver.com.
