38-year-old struck by gunfire
Kalamazoo, Michigan:
On Sunday, August 29, 2021, at approximately 4:29 A.M., Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers responded to the 1300 block of Krom St for a report of a shooting. Upon officer’s arrival, they located a subject who had been struck by gunfire inside a home and was suffering a non-life-threatening injury.
The victim, a 38-year-old Kalamazoo resident, was treated at a local hospital and is listed in stable condition.
A Van Buren County Sheriff Deputy K9 responded to the scene to attempt a K9 track of the known suspect. During the K9 track, a Kalamazoo Public Safety Sergeant observed the suspect outside a house in the 1600 block of N Westnedge Ave and was taken into custody.
