Shooting Investigation

On Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at approximately 7:14 p.m., officers with the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety responded to multiple reports of shots fired in the 100 block of E Bush St. Officers arrived on scene and initially did not locate any victims.  A victim later arrived at a local hospital with an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim, a 16-year-old Kalamazoo resident is currently listed in stable condition. 

At 7:50pm multiple callers reported a second incident of shots fired in the 1100 block of Hotop St.  Officers arrived on scene and did not locate any victims. One vehicle with damage caused by gunfire was located and the occupants were uninjured.  

The suspect/s involved fled the area in vehicles prior to officers’ arrival.  Both cases are currently being investigated and no suspect/s have been arrested at this time.
