On Tuesday July 27th, 2021 at approximately 0200 a.m. the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety was conducting directed patrols on the Northside of Kalamazoo regarding citizen complaints of gun violence.
A traffic stop was initiated on a vehicle in the 200 block of N Rose St. The driver, a 19-year-old Kalamazoo resident, was found to have an outstanding felony warrant. A search of the vehicle yielded a loaded firearm. The driver was ultimately arrested and lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail for carrying a concealed weapon and the outstanding warrant.
