Multiple Vehicle Accident

Kalamazoo, MI:

On July 17th 2021, at approximately 10:00PM Kalamazoo Public Safety took multiple calls for an accident involving several vehicles in the 2000 block of S Westnedge Ave.  Officers located 4 vehicles that were driving north on Westnedge Ave that were struck by a wrong way driver traveling south in the north bound lane.  Minor injuries were reported by two of the drivers from the accident and one from an officer that occurred during the arrest.

The suspect, a 19 year old Mattawan resident, was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated and Assaulting a Police Officer.  They are currently being held awaiting arraignment.

Kalamazoo Public Safety would like to express its appreciation to the witnesses who stayed on scene to help us positively identify the suspect.
