On July 17, 2021 at approximately 02:00 a.m. the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety responded to the 3700 block of W Michigan reference an accident followed by shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers located a 22-year-old Battle Creek resident with a gunshot wound to the leg. The suspect fled the area prior to officer’s arrival. A description of the suspect and suspect vehicle was provided. A short time later, the suspect was located in the area of W. Michigan/11th after being involved in a single vehicle accident.
The suspect, a 37-year-old Kalamazoo resident was arrested on multiple charges.
The victim is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a local hospital.
