PRESS RELEASE

Stolen Auto Recovered

Kalamazoo, MI:

On July 8th at approximately 2:30AM,  Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers responded to a articulated threat from individuals to shoot at an occupied house in the 1000 block of Cameron St.  Credible information was received that included vehicle information and suspect descriptions.  Officers soon located the vehicle and upon attempting a traffic stop, it fled the area.  The vehicle appeared to be a stolen auto from Portage PD and, with the threat of extreme violence, Public Safety pursued the vehicle.

Stop Sticks ® were successfully used to disable the vehicle that soon came to a stop on Carr St.  Two of the four occupants fled on foot but, with the assistance of a police K9, one of the two were soon located.  In total, 3 juvenile suspects were arrested on multiple weapons and other felony charges including UDAA.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Kalamazoo Public Safety at (269)488-8911 or Silent Observer at (269)343-2100 or www.kalamazoosilentobserver.com.
