On February 27th 2021, Kalamazoo Public Safety was conducting a directed patrol in the 400 block of West Michigan Avenue targeting a hotspot for mobile nuisance parties commonly referred to as the “X-Train.”  During this time, officers observed a person acting suspiciously in the lot, not conducting legitimate business and appearing to be concealing a firearm.  Due to numerous drug and weapons criminal cases generated in this area, officers investigated a concealed weapon violation.  As a result, 2 handguns were seized, and two 22-year old Kalamazoo residents were arrested on multiple firearm related charges and lodged at the county jail.

Kalamazoo Public Safety remains dedicated to actively pursuing resolutions and solutions to the mobile nuisance parties.

Anyone having information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety at 269-337-8139 or Silent Observer at 269-343-2100.
