Traffic stop leads to the recovery of firearm
On February 10th, 2021 a Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling without headlights and without a license plate near the intersection of E. Frank St. and Scudder Ct. A second officer arrived observed a small handgun in plain view inside the vehicle. The driver was a known felon out on parole. A search incident to arrest of the driver also revealed suspected methamphetamine.
A 45-year-old Kalamazoo resident was arrested on charges of CCW, felon in possession of a firearm and possession of methamphetamine and was lodged at KCSD Jail.
