Traffic Stop Leads to Recovery of Stolen Firearm

On 02-04-2021 around 830 pm, Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of E. Stockbridge Ave. KDPS Officers were addressing gun related crime originating from this residential district. The vehicle occupants were contacted and during the investigation a semi-automatic firearm was observed inside of the vehicle. The firearm was recovered and subsequently determined to be stolen.
As a result, a 36-year-old Kalamazoo resident was arrested and charged with several felonies. He was lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail.
