                                                Residential Structure Fire

Kalamazoo, MI:

On Sunday, January 17th, 2021 at approximately 10:19 P.M., Officers from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety responded to the 200 blk of E. Clay for a report of a house fire. When Public Safety Officers arrived, smoke and flames were observed coming from the rear of the home.

Public Safety Officers entered the residence and located the fire at the rear of the house on the first floor. Public Safety Officers were able to bring the fire under control within 25 minutes and were on scene for over an hour. The occupants were not home at the time of the incident.

The cause of the fire is not yet known and is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s office.
