Apartment Fire
Kalamazoo, MI:
On Monday, January 18th, 2021 at approximately 2:30 P.M., officers from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety responded to the 1700 blk of E. Cork for a report of a structure fire. When KDPS officers arrived, smoke was observed coming from the main floor of the multi-story residential building.
KDPS officers entered the apartment building and located the fire in a first-floor apartment. KDPS officers were able to bring the fire under control within 30 minutes and are currently still on scene. The occupants were not home at the time of the incident, and no other tenants were injured.
The cause of the fire is not yet known and is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s office.
