Shots fired into car

Kalamazoo, MI: On 12-04-2020 at approximately 4:02pm Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers responded to the intersection of W. Michigan Ave and N. Westnedge Ave regarding reports of gunshots being fired at a car. Witnesses stated that a male subject had fired gun shots into a car at this intersection and then left the area on foot. As Officers arrived in the area, the victim contacted Dispatch to report that he was shot at by a known subject.

A K-9 track for the suspect was done but the suspect was not located. Although the suspect was not located, there is no threat to the public at this time and this incident appears to be isolated as the victim and suspect are known to each other. The victim in this case was not injured but the vehicle he was in was struck by gunfire.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the Criminal Investigations Division at (269) 337-8139 or Silent Observer at (269) 343-2100.
