On Thursday, November 12, 2020 at approximately 11:00 pm, officers with the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of West Lovell Street.  The purpose of this stop was to contact and arrest a known subject with an arrest warrant.

While addressing the warrant arrest a separate occupant of the vehicle attempted to flee the traffic stop on foot.  This occupant was arrested after a short foot pursuit.  When this occupant was searched, a stolen firearm was recovered that was concealed on his ankle.

Two additional subjects from the vehicle were also arrested when the vehicle was searched, and a collapsible rifle, several magazines and many additional rounds of ammunition were located.

All three suspects have been lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail on weapons charges.

Anyone having information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety at 337-8139 or Silent Observer at 343-2100.
