Kalamazoo, MI:
On October 10th, 2020 at approximately 2:16 pm, Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers responded to a home in the 900 block of Clarence St for a report of a person who had been shot. First arriving officers located an 18-year-old Kalamazoo man who had been struck by gunfire as he was sitting in a parked vehicle. Witnesses in the area reported that a vehicle was driving past the victim when a back-seat occupant fired several rounds from a handgun, striking the victim one time. The victim was taken to Bronson hospital where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect vehicle was last seen driving north on Clarence St.
Around 4:00 pm, officers patrolling the north side of Kalamazoo located the suspect vehicle in the 400 block of North Rose. The officers stopped the vehicle and identified the driver. He was arrested for outstanding warrants. Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers are still attempting to locate and identify the suspected shooter.
