Shooting Investigation 2600 Airview Blvd

Kalamazoo, Michigan:

On Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at approximately 7:45 p.m. officers from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety were dispatched to the report of a subject who had been shot in the 2600 Block of Airview Boulevard.  Responding officers located a 17-year-old Kalamazoo resident suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  Officers provided medical care to the individual and he was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The victim reported being shot unintentionally while other subjects were handling a firearm nearby.  Officers executed a search warrant at a nearby business and located the firearm believed to have been used.

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety continues to investigate this incident.
