On Friday, October 2, 2020 at approximately 8:48 pm, officers with the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety were dispatched to the report of gunshots in the 1000 block of Mills Street.
Responding officers arrived in the area and located evidence of a shooting. While investigating the scene a subject arrived at a local hospital via a personal vehicle. This subject was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
The victim, a 20-year-old Kalamazoo resident is currently being treated for injuries sustained and has been listed in serious but stable condition.
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is continuing to investigate this incident.
