Two People Shot


Kalamazoo, MI: On Saturday, September 11th, 2020 at approximately 11:30 p.m., Kalamazoo Dept. of Public Safety Officers were on patrol and heard approximately a dozen gunshots in the area Portage Rd and E. Stockbridge. As officers investigated, a witness called to report a shooting in the 1400 block of Portage Rd. Officers arrived and observed evidence consistent with a shooting but no victims were located. Moments later two adult victims arrived at local hospital with apparent gunshots wounds.

The first victim is a 27-year-old Kalamazoo resident. The second victim is a 17-year-old Kalamazoo resident. Both victims’ injuries are not believed to be life threatening at this time.

The victims and witnesses were interviewed however limited suspect information was provided. After the shooting, the suspect was observed fleeing the scene in a red smaller sized SUV. This incident is currently under investigation.
