Shots fired investigation leads to firearms being seized.

Kalamazoo, MI:

On August 27th at approximately 3:33pm, Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers responded to the 800 block of Hays Park for a report of shots fired. An observant citizen witnessed suspected involved individuals run into a nearby house. This concerned citizen reported their observations to police who obtained a search warrant for the involved residence. As a result of this investigation, two firearms were seized along with high-capacity magazines and a large quantity of ammunition.

KDPS would like to thank the alert citizens for their quick actions in this effort to reduce gun violence in the neighborhood.

The incident is still under investigation and Public Safety is asking anyone with information to contact Kalamazoo Public Safety at 337-8994 or Silent Observer at 343-2100, kalamazoosilentobserver.com.
