House Fire 100 Prospect

On August 21, 2020, at approximately 1:13 pm, Kalamazoo Public Safety, assisted by the Kalamazoo Township Fire Department, responded to a report of a house fire in the 100 block of Prospect.  Upon arrival there was smoke coming from the eaves of the residence.  An interior attack was attempted but the fire had spread into the attic and eventually compromised conditions inside. Fire fighters continued to fight the fire from outside.  Fire Fighters are still on scene working to fully extinguish the fire, the Fire Marshals office will continue to investigate the cause of the fire. 

The residence had been evacuated prior to our arrival, the Red Cross is assisting the family who resided in the home.  No injuries were reported.
