On Wednesday, August 19, 2020 around 1:15 am, Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Princeton Avenue for a report of a residential structure fire.  The first arriving officer was able to quickly put the fire out with an extinguisher.  The quick response and action of this Officer resulted in the fire being extinguished before it extended into the home.  No injuries were reported.

During the investigation it was learned that an individual in a vehicle had fired several gunshots and then an incendiary device was thrown on the porch of the residence starting the fire.

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety’s Fire Marshal’s Office and Criminal Investigations Division continue to investigate this matter.
