Shooting Investigation

Kalamazoo, MI: On August 18, 2020 at 11:30 am, Kalamazoo Public Safety officers responded to the intersection of Kalamazoo/Elm in reference to the report of several shots fired into a vehicle. Officers arrived on scene and located evidence of a shooting; however, it was found that the victim had transported them-self to a local hospital for medical treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses on scene reported hearing several shots being fired and observed seeing a silver SUV speeding out of the area that was believed to be involved in the shooting.
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is continuing to investigate this incident.

Public Safety is requesting anyone with information about this crime to contact the Criminal Investigation Division at 337-8139, or Silent Observer at 343-2100.
