Fatal Collision

Kalamazoo, MI:
On Monday, May 25th, 2020 at approximately 6:00 pm, Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers responded to the intersection of Portage St and Vine St for the report of collision involving a motorcycle and a sedan. Officers arrived on scene and located the operator of the motorcycle suffering from serious injuries. Life saving measures were performed and the victim was transported to a local hospital where they were later pronounced deceased.
Officers located the other involved vehicle in the 500 block of Lake St and spoke to several witnesses. As a result of this investigation a 34-year-old Kalamazoo resident was arrested for Operating while intoxicated. Additional charges are being sought.
