SHOTS FIRED CALL LEADS TO GUN AND DRUG ARREST

Kalamazoo, MI: On May 8th 2020 officers were in the 1200 block of Oak St. when they heard numerous gun shots to the north east. A nearby officer observed a lone subject running from the area and attempted to stop them. The subject fled on foot from officers into the 400 block of Ranney St. A police K9 was brought to the scene and the subject located a short distance away hiding under a porch. Officers located a stolen handgun, a quantity of crack cocaine, and various prescription medications. A 23 year old Kalamazoo resident was arrested on multiple firearms and drug related charges. They were lodged at the Kalamazoo County Sheriffs Department.
