Retail Fraud and Gun Arrest

Kalamazoo, Michigan: 

On Saturday, May 2nd 2020 officers responded to the 3100 block of Lovers Ln regarding a retail fraud of an area business.   Officers on scene received information from witnesses regarding a possible suspect vehicle that was seen leaving the area.   Officers responding to the area observed the suspect vehicle in the 1500 block of South Westnedge and contacted the occupants.

During the course of the investigation, officers recovered the stolen merchandise as well as a firearm that was concealed in the vehicle.   The driver, a 24 year old Kalamazoo resident, was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon.  Charges of retail fraud will be requested from the prosecutor against a 24 year old Chicago resident who was a passenger in the vehicle.
