W Main St / Hilbert St Rollover

April 7, 2020 by Michael Skurski

Kalamazoo, MI: At 6:52 p.m. on April 6, 2020, Public Safety officers were dispatched to the area of W Main St and Hilbert St on a report of a single-vehicle rollover crash. Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle on its side, with the lone occupant trapped inside. Utilizing extrication tools, officers safely rescued the driver. The driver was transported to Bronson by Life EMS with minor injuries.

After investigation, it was determined that the vehicle had been traveling west on W Main St, when it left the roadway at a curve, struck a utility pole, and rolled over. W Main St was closed for approximately 50 minutes while this incident was investigated.

Kalamazoo Public Safety wishes to remind drivers that your first duty as a driver is to drive your vehicle. Remember to keep your eyes on the road ahead, and minimize distractions in the passenger cabin.

Anyone having information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety at (269) 488-8911, Silent Observer at (269) 343-2100, or report online at www.kalamazoosilentobserver.com.
