Hit and Run suspect sought

March 28, 2020 by Scott Smith

Kalamazoo, MI: On 3/27/20 at approximately 1:30 pm, Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Officers responded to the 800 block of Reed Ave for a report of a subject down in the roadway. First arriving officers located a victim who had apparently been run over by a vehicle. The suspect vehicle fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival. The victim, a 15 year old Kalamazoo female, was unable to provide many details of the incident. She was transported to Bronson Hospital by ambulance where she was treated for serious injuries.

Investigating officers spoke with witnesses and reviewed security camera footage from the area, which showed the suspect vehicle running over the victim in the roadway. The suspect vehicle is a dark sedan. The make and model of the suspect vehicle are unknown. It was last seen leaving west on Reed Ave. As of this time, the suspect has not been located or identified.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety at 337-8120 or Silent Observer at 343-2100

Sgt. Robert Holdwick
