On December 31, 2019 at approximately 8:00 pm officers attempted to stop a gold colored Jeep Grand Cherokee for a traffic violation in the area of N Church and Norway. The driver refused to stop and fled from officers in the vehicle. Officers lost sight of the vehicle as it fled however a short distance from the initial traffic stop officers located the same vehicle abandoned in the 1000 block of N Rose. Several officers responded to assist with a perimeter of the area. A K9 officer with K9 Bach, was also called to the abandoned vehicle to conduct a K9 track for the suspect. While K9 Bach tracked from the vehicle, the suspect was spotted running in the 500 block of Elizabeth. K9 Bach tracked to the same area where the male suspect was seen running and ended up locating the suspect hiding in the 600 block of William.
