Kalamazoo, MI:

On Monday, December 9th, 2019 at approximately 10:45pm, Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers responded to the 200 block of Pierce Ave for the report of shots fired. Officers arrived on scene and located several casings in the roadway. No victims were located. An aware citizen observed a white sedan leaving the area after the shots were fired. Officers conducted interviews on scene and were able to identify a suspect.

On Tuesday, December 10th, 2019 at approximately 1:15 am, Kalamazoo County Sherriff’s Department Deputies located the suspect in the 4900 block of Sprinkle Rd. The suspect had the firearm concealed on his person and taken into custody without incident.

As a result of this investigation a 29 year old Kalamazoo resident was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and an outstanding warrant. Additional charges are being sought.

Public Safety encourages anyone with information regarding this incident or about additional criminal activity to contact the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety at 488-8911 or Silent Observer at 343-2100.
