Man arrested trying to break into occupied house

Kalamazoo, MI:

On 11/14/19 at approximately 0050hrs, KDPS Officers were dispatched to the 2800 Blk of Edgewood Drive. A homeowner observed an unknown subject attempting to break into their residence. The homeowner was able to provide detailed information on the subject’s location as police arrived into the area. The first arriving officer located the subject still on the homeowner’s property. The subject was detained and arrested without incident.

The subject was also found to be in possession of burglary tools. The subject is a 26 year old Kalamazoo resident, he was lodged at KCSD Jail for home invasion and possession of burglary tools. KDPS commends the alert homeowner for their assistance.

Public Safety is requesting anyone with information about this crime to contact the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety at 488-8911, the Criminal Investigation Division at 337-8139, or Silent Observer at 343-2100.
