ARREST MADE IN SECOND THREAT MADE TO KALAMAZOO PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

November 13, 2019 by Kalamazoo Public Safety

Kalamazoo, MI:

In the evening of 11/12/19, the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety was made aware of an additional threat made on social media against Loy Norrix High School. Public Safety Officers worked throughout the evening and early morning hours on the investigation, and were able to identify the suspect. As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was executed in the 1800 block of Vanzee Avenue. Several electronic devices believed to have been used in the threats were seized as evidence. No weapons were located, and it appears at this time that the threat was not credible.

The suspect, a 16 year old female, was also located during the execution of the search warrant. She was taken into custody and lodged at the Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home on a charge of making a terrorist threat. KDPS investigators have been working closely with Kalamazoo Public School security to investigate the threats received, and identify anybody else who may have been involved.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety at 337-8120 or Silent Observer at 343-2100
