Pedestrian struck by vehicle

Kalamazoo, MI:

On 10/27/19 at approx. 1:45 AM a 32 year old male was struck by a vehicle while in the roadway near the intersection of S. Rose/Academy St. Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety responded and rendered aid. The male victim was transported to a nearby hospital and is currently in critical condition. The driver of the vehicle, a 31 year old Kalamazoo resident, remained on scene. Alcohol appears to be a factor and as a result of the investigation the driver was arrested and lodged at Kalamazoo County Sheriff Office on an alcohol related driving offense.

Public Safety is requesting anyone with information about this crime to contact the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety at 488-8911, the Criminal Investigation Division at 337-8139, or Silent Observer at 343-2100.
