BULLETS STRIKE VEHICLE AND HOUSES

Kalamazoo, MI:
On Friday, October 18, 2019 around 10:00 pm Kalamazoo Public Safety patrol officers heard and residents called 911 hearing multiple shots fired in the area of Reed St and Hays Park Ave. When KDPS arrived on scene they located casings in the 800 block of Reed St. While on scene, residents in that same block reported their homes were struck with the gun fire and officers found a resident who had a vehicle struck as well. The KDPS Crime Lab responded and the technicians collected shell casings, bullets and other evidence from the scene. No injuries were reported.

During the investigation, officers located video that captured the incident. After the video was reviewed and interviews with residents in the area were completed, a vehicle of interest was discovered to be a dark colored (possibly maroon) Dodge Ram pickup truck with damage on the front passenger side. The shooter was not located at this time.

Anyone having information regarding this incident, or any other crimes in Kalamazoo, is encouraged to contact the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety at 337-8994 or Silent Observer at 343-2100
